Heather Jacobson Nominated for Inaugural Janet Jordan Achievement Award

Heather Jacobson Nominated for Inaugural Janet Jordan Achievement Award

ROANOKE, VA – A year and half ago, if any one had told Virtual Assistant, Heather Jacobson, that she would be nominated for the first ever Janet Jordan Award, she probably would not have believed it. The award honors a Virtual Assistant (VA) who has been in business for less than 2 years and has reached a milestone in their short career. This milestone needs to be an accomplishment that has boosted their new business to an overwhelming success in a relatively short period of time. Jacobson’s peers nominated her for this honor and the nomination is proof she has already become an overwhelming success.

“To be nominated by your peers for such a prestigious award is an amazing and humbling feeling. I’m honored that there are Virtual Assistants out there that deem me worthy of this award” says Jacobson. And why wouldn’t they? Jacobson has reached many milestones in her short career. She’s the author of “Making Dollars Out of Cents: 101 Tips for Frugal Marketers”; co-founder of the Virtual Assistant Revolution; owner of Valley Virtual Assistants; a Coach with Virtual Assistant Training; and an active contributor to many Virtual Assistant forums. Any one of these accomplishments would be seen as a milestone for the new VA. Perhaps her greatest contribution and the reason for her nomination is her passion for sharing knowledge. The Virtual Assistant Revolution was born out of that passion. Virtual Assistants in all stages of their business find resources, support, assistance, ideas, motivation, and guidance in Jacobson. Jacobson freely shares her business and marketing knowledge with other VAs through her participation in many forums. By encouraging new VAs to grow and ask questions, Jacobson promotes the professionalism of the Virtual Assistant industry.

As reported on the Online International Virtual Assistants Convention (OIVAC) website, Janet Jordan, who passed away in January 2006, was a recognized industry leader in the virtual assistance field. Mrs. Jordan’s virtual assisting career began in 1980, long before the term “Virtual Assistant” was coined. Along with running her private VA practices which included clients who spanned the globe, Mrs. Jordan also trained aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their own up-to-the-minute, compelling and relevant virtual assistant practices through Virtual Assistance U. Jordan created future leaders in the Virtual Assistant industry. Heather Jacobson strives to carry on Janet Jordan’s legacy.

The winner of the Janet Jordan Achievement Award will be chosen by members of the International Association of Coaches (IAC) and will be honored at the inaugural International Virtual Assistants Day (IVAD) event which will be held online on May 19th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm EST. The inaugural celebration coincides with a three-day assembly sponsored by the OIVAC running from May 18 – 20, 2006. Admission to the IVAD Celebration and Awards presentation is free and open to the public. Visit the OIVAC website for more information.

BALTIMORE, MD (PRWEB) May 21, 2006 — Heather Jacobson of Valley Virtual Assistants in Roanoke, Virginia becomes the 2006 recipient of the “Janet Jordan Achievement” Award.

The award, bestowed by industry advocacy group, Alliance for Virtual Businesses during the Online International Virtual Assistants Convention (OIVAC) this week, honors a new Virtual Assistant or VA who has been in practice for less than 2 years and surpassed set milestones that have propelled their business to great success. Award nominees were selected by their peers within the VA industry and upon review of the nomination papers of the finalists by OIVAC, a winner was selected. Jacobson will accept her award tonight during the special Virtual Assistants Day Celebration.

“I am humbled and honored that my peers deem me worthy of this award,” said Jacobson, who has been in business since 2005. Prior to launching her business, Jacobson, who specializes in providing Solopreneurs with marketing know-how, has worked in marketing, sales and business development for multiple industries including restaurant, construction and media. “When I started my business I didn’t set out to win any awards. I simply started my business to provide quality support to small business owners. To win an award named after someone you highly respected and wished to emulate is an even greater honor.”

Taking the Four Letter Word Out of Marketing and Making It Easier for Entrepreneurs

Taking the Four Letter Word Out of Marketing and Making It Easier for Entrepreneurs

Roanoke, VA (PRWEB) October 24, 2005 — It is common among small business owners to assume that marketing is beyond their economic reach and will be for some time. They believe that until they grow their businesses, the marketing tools by which to achieve further growth will remain too expensive to be practical. It is that misconception that Heather Jacobson dispels in her ebook, Making Dollars Out of Cents: 101 Tips for the Frugal Marketer.

Jacobson, a successful business owner, states, “So many times I hear people who are starting out with their businesses complain that they would love to market their ideas, but do not have the money. This simply amazes me because I have a very successful business that began turning a profit after three months. In the first nine months I spent less than $100 on my marketing efforts, total. There are ways. 101 ways, in fact, to inexpensively market your business.”

Any business can grow by exposing their products to a larger customer base. Making Dollars Out of Cents can help entrepreneurs do this sooner because less money is needed to access markets in the ways that Jacobson illustrates. Her clear vision and original thinking led her to try new ideas and new perspectives on marketing. Small businesses are opening up everywhere. Jacobson’s novel approaches can be utilized to fit many marketing niches.

According to Erin Banister, Founder of Trinity Jacobs, Jacobson “has compiled not only a great list of inexpensive resources for marketing, but also provided real-world examples. Those examples have shown me that not only can the tips be put into action immediately, they can also bring results faster than I thought possible. Without this ebook, I would never have thought to use some of these techniques, and I would never have had this sudden growth.”

Dale Noles, President of The Selon Group, has been a vocal supporter since this ebook’s concept. Noles says, “This e-book is literally jammed packed with 101 inexpensive, innovative and practical marketing ideas that you can use immediately to jumpstart your business or catapult you to the next level. Since I began reading Making Dollars Out of Cents and implementing this practical advice for just two weeks The Selon Group is already seeing dramatic results.”

Jacobson concludes, “I’ve searched high and low and can find ebooks filled with marketing strategies but most of their ideas cost more money than I would consider economical. The key to inexpensive and free marketing is utilizing all the tools available to you and making it viral in nature. There are tools out there that you didn’t even know existed.”
