Heather Jacobson Nominated for Inaugural Janet Jordan Achievement Award
ROANOKE, VA – A year and half ago, if any one had told Virtual Assistant, Heather Jacobson, that she would be nominated for the first ever Janet Jordan Award, she probably would not have believed it. The award honors a Virtual Assistant (VA) who has been in business for less than 2 years and has reached a milestone in their short career. This milestone needs to be an accomplishment that has boosted their new business to an overwhelming success in a relatively short period of time. Jacobson’s peers nominated her for this honor and the nomination is proof she has already become an overwhelming success.
“To be nominated by your peers for such a prestigious award is an amazing and humbling feeling. I’m honored that there are Virtual Assistants out there that deem me worthy of this award” says Jacobson. And why wouldn’t they? Jacobson has reached many milestones in her short career. She’s the author of “Making Dollars Out of Cents: 101 Tips for Frugal Marketers”; co-founder of the Virtual Assistant Revolution; owner of Valley Virtual Assistants; a Coach with Virtual Assistant Training; and an active contributor to many Virtual Assistant forums. Any one of these accomplishments would be seen as a milestone for the new VA. Perhaps her greatest contribution and the reason for her nomination is her passion for sharing knowledge. The Virtual Assistant Revolution was born out of that passion. Virtual Assistants in all stages of their business find resources, support, assistance, ideas, motivation, and guidance in Jacobson. Jacobson freely shares her business and marketing knowledge with other VAs through her participation in many forums. By encouraging new VAs to grow and ask questions, Jacobson promotes the professionalism of the Virtual Assistant industry.
As reported on the Online International Virtual Assistants Convention (OIVAC) website, Janet Jordan, who passed away in January 2006, was a recognized industry leader in the virtual assistance field. Mrs. Jordan’s virtual assisting career began in 1980, long before the term “Virtual Assistant” was coined. Along with running her private VA practices which included clients who spanned the globe, Mrs. Jordan also trained aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their own up-to-the-minute, compelling and relevant virtual assistant practices through Virtual Assistance U. Jordan created future leaders in the Virtual Assistant industry. Heather Jacobson strives to carry on Janet Jordan’s legacy.
The winner of the Janet Jordan Achievement Award will be chosen by members of the International Association of Coaches (IAC) and will be honored at the inaugural International Virtual Assistants Day (IVAD) event which will be held online on May 19th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm EST. The inaugural celebration coincides with a three-day assembly sponsored by the OIVAC running from May 18 – 20, 2006. Admission to the IVAD Celebration and Awards presentation is free and open to the public. Visit the OIVAC website for more information.
