I stopped following them when they wouldn't stop doing "flood updates" of their "news" every 2 hours. It's annoying. And, I get the news I care about on Google News and BBC/NPR radio. I can scan the headlines and listen for the in depth, *unbiased* stories behind the news.

Local media has a lot to learn/understand about their changed audience.

Hello Heather,
I agree with you. In fact last fall when I launched 'the Hub', I instructed my staff to focus on relationships, and toss out the word" brand'. I loath that word, and find it useless. Relationships! That is everything. I wrote an article about this for the Hub, to explain why I reached out to the New River Voice and included them in our ribbon cutting, etc. Everything we do at the Hub comes from the sof relationship.

You've voiced (ok - written) the very concern that I, too, have with our media sources. TV Stations & Newspapers have a huge opportunity to truly "connect" with their fans and as you said "they're missing the boat". Consequently, @WDRL24 is the only news source I currently follow- simply because he "get's it". Well done, Heather!
